Since 2007 the fantastic Oceânico Victoria golf course in Vilamoura is venue to the Portugal Masters, each year one of the last tournaments of the European Tour on the Race to Dubai.

The popular "White Night" is back to Loulé!
The White Night brings a special ambience to the city during the summer. A great night of partying in the streets of the city center, which has been decorated in white and all visitors to the event are asked to dress in white. Bands, jugglers and street theater groups, also wearing white, enhance the overall ambience.

Faro is proud to be a capital of motor bikers. Once a year during the summertime the local club Moto Clube Faro is organizing an international biker convention, attracting thousands of bikers from all over the world. A highlight for the public is a biker parade on the closing Sunday, attracting spectators from far and near.

14th edition of the popular music festival in the streets and lanes of the historical centre of Loulé June 29 until July 2, 2017
75 hours of music of the world on 3 days - 55 concerts on 9 stages in the old part of Loulé! Since its start in 2004 the Festival MED is a highlight on the local event calendar of Loulé. THis international musical event with its own unique character takes place in the historic center of Loulé from June 29th to July 2nd, 2017. During the days of the festival the lanes between the market, castle and church, bedecked in white awnings, are transformed into a huge basar and you can see and enjoy listening to musicians from all over the world. Festival MED is also a blend of cultural references such as the gastronomy, plastic arts, street entertainment, handicraft, dancing, workshops, and much more, with the evident aim of promoting the several cultures from around the world. Entry to the festival is at the market hall, the famous landmark of the city of Loulé. Festival of Nossa Senhora da Piedade in Loulé
For more than 500 years, the festival of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, the patroness of Loulé, known as Mãe Soberana (Sovereign Mother), has been celebrated in Loulé for two weeks starting on Easter Sunday. This festival of the local patroness of the region is considered the largest religious demonstration in Portugal, south of Fátima. Festa Pequena (Easter Sunday) The procession begins with the recitation of a rosary at the chapel Nossa Sra. da Piedade. Then the statue of Mae Soberana is carried down to the church of S. Francisco The procession to the strains of an orchestra, an accelerated march, is not at all easy due to the steep and narrow winding road. The statue remains in the church for 15 days until the Festa Grande. Festa Grande The ceremony starts with a High Mass celebrated by the bishop of the Algarve at the municipal park of Loulé. Then the procession between the city and the sanctuary on top of a small hill west of Loulé is performed as a quick march, to the sound of music specifically created for this spectacular occasion. A crowd of thousands of believers with white handkerchiefs and spectators from all over the Algarve, the neighbouring Alentejo and other places get together to celebrate and to marvel at this impressive event.
